About This Calculator
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate business days between two dates?
To calculate only business days (Monday through Friday), check the "Exclude Weekends" option. If you also want to exclude holidays, check the "Exclude Holidays" option as well. The calculator will then show both total days and business days in the results.
Does the end date count in the calculation?
By default, the calculator includes the end date in the calculation, meaning it counts that day as a full day. If you want to exclude the end date, uncheck the "Include End Date" option. This is useful when calculating time spans where the end date shouldn't be counted.
Which holidays are excluded when I select "Exclude Holidays"?
When you check "Exclude Holidays", the calculator excludes major US federal holidays, including New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
How does the calculator handle leap years?
The calculator automatically accounts for leap years when computing the duration between dates. It correctly adds February 29 for leap years (2020, 2024, etc.) and ensures accurate day counts even when date ranges span multiple leap years.
Can I use this to calculate my age?
Yes! To calculate your age, enter your birth date as the start date and today's date as the end date. The calculator will show your age in years, months, and days, as well as the total number of days you've been alive.
