Snowboard Size Calculator

Snowboard length calculator from height, weight, and riding style, with a wide-board flag at a US men’s 11 boot.

Checked 2026-10-17. The answer below is computed on this page.

Rider

in
lb

11 or larger flags a wide board.

Length range

62–64.5 in

Wide board
Yes — boot is 11 or larger
Weight shift
None
Reference weight
150 lb

A starting range from manufacturer size charts. The board’s own chart is the one to buy from.

Formula

All-mountain sits between chin and nose, using the same landmark offsets as the ski page: chin is 8 inches under height, nose is 5.5 inches under. Park is that band, 2 inches shorter. Powder runs from an inch under the nose to an inch under head height.

weight shift = ±1 in if weight is more than 15 lb off the reference
reference weight = 100 + 5 × (height − 60)
wide = US men’s boot ≥ 11

The offsets, the 15 lb threshold, and the boot cutoff are this page’s reading of typical charts. They are not a single brand’s size table.

Worked examples

70 in, 160 lb, all-mountain, boot 11. 62 to 64.5 in. Reference weight is 150 lb, so no shift. Wide is flagged.

70 in, 160 lb, park, boot 9. 60 to 62.5 in. Wide is not flagged.

70 in, 180 lb, powder. Nose − 1 to height − 1 is 63.5 to 69. Weight is 30 lb over, so +1 in: 64.5 to 70 in.

Reference

70 inch rider, 160 lb. No weight shift at this weight. Wide depends on the boot, not the style.

StyleRange
Park 60–62.5 in
All-mountain 62–64.5 in
Powder 63.5–69 in

Questions

What board length fits a 5 ft 10 in all-mountain rider?

Chin to nose on 70 inches is 62 to 64.5 inches. At 160 lb the reference weight is 150, which is not more than 15 lb away, so the range does not shift. A US men’s boot of 11 or larger flags a wide board. That flag is on for an 11.

How do park and powder differ?

Park is the all-mountain range, 2 inches shorter. Powder starts an inch under the nose and runs to an inch under head height. Manufacturer charts disagree by several centimetres. Use this as a starting band, then read the board’s own size chart.

When is a wide board flagged?

At a US men’s boot size of 11 or larger. The flag does not change the length. It says the waist may be too narrow for that boot and you should look at a wide model.
