What a sale actually leaves, after the platform’s cut and the costs you already know. Rates are copied from the published fee pages and dated.
Etsy, for a US shop, is a $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% of the item plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge, and Etsy Payments at 3% + $0.25 of the whole charge including tax. Offsite Ads, if a sale is attributed, is 15% under $10,000 in the prior year and 12% after that, capped at $100 on a US order. Sales tax is not in the 6.5%. It is in the processing fee.
Whatnot’s commission, since 21 September 2026, is a tier from the previous four-week sales and it applies to the item price only. US payment processing is 2.9% + $0.30 of the item, the shipping the buyer paid, and tax. The rate card on the Whatnot page is the US table from their help center.
PayPal’s US commercial table, read 17 October 2026, is 3.49% + $0.49 for Checkout, 2.99% with no fixed fee for Goods and Services, and 2.99% + $0.49 for standard cards. International commercial payments add 1.50%. Stripe’s US online cards are 2.9% + 30¢, with 1% more on an international card. Currency conversion is a separate Stripe fee and is not priced here.
