Formula
The US card below is the table in Whatnot’s help center. Commission is a percent of the item price. Processing is 2.9% + $0.30 of item + buyer shipping + buyer tax. Profit subtracts those fees and the costs you type. Shipping you pay is a cost. Shipping the buyer paid is revenue, and it is also in the processing base.
commission = tier rate × item price
processing = 2.9% × (item + buyer shipping + tax) + $0.30
profit = item + buyer shipping − your costs − fees
Premier Shop multiplies the commission by 0.9 through 2026-10-31. Non-US cards are different and are not on this page.
Worked examples
$10 item, $4.99 shipping, $0.85 tax, standard sports. Commission = 8% × 10 = $0.80. Processing = 2.9% × $15.84 + $0.30 = $0.76. Fees $1.56. With no costs, you keep $13.43, which includes the shipping the buyer paid.
Same sale, Premier Shop. Commission becomes $0.72. The processing fee does not change.

How does Whatnot calculate seller fees?
Since 2026-09-21, US commission is a tier from the previous four-week sales, and it applies to the item price only. Payment processing is 2.9% + $0.30 of the item, the shipping the buyer paid, and tax. The help article was updated 2026-10-01. This page was checked against it on 2026-10-17.
What is the commission on a $10 sale?
A standard-tier sports or TCG sale is 8% of the item price, so $0.80 on a $10 item. Shipping and tax are not in that 8%. They are in the processing fee. Whatnot’s own example is a $10 item, $4.99 shipping, $0.85 tax: commission $0.80, processing about $0.76.
What is the Premier Shop discount?
Premier Shop takes an extra 10% off the commission through 2026-10-31. The box is off unless you turn it on. After that date the discount ends, and this page should stop offering it.
Does this include sellers outside the US?
No. Other countries have different commission cards and different processing rates. Copying them incorrectly would be worse than leaving them out. Trailing sales are what set the tier. They are not a fee on this order.
